The Department of Sustainable Biomaterials at Virginia Tech is one of 10 departments at universities around the U.S. that have joined together to promote the work being done in the field and showcase the opportunities awaiting students who choose to major in forest products and/or biomaterials.

The 10 universities joined a consortium designed to promote the field of sustainable materials and wood products. A marketing video with footage that features Virginia Tech faculty and students, along with personnel from the other institutions, was released to raise awareness of the major and enhance recruiting of students who did not know that a challenging, vibrant, and lucrative career can result from earning a degree in finding innovative and sustainable solutions for business and industry using forest products.

The video is part of a new website designed to be a hub of information and resources for anyone interested in forest products or biomaterials degree programs.
