Biography
Dr. Kim is a packaging expert with over 20 years of experience in sustainable packaging, including bioplastics, smart packaging, biosensors, and nano-composite structures for food and healthcare products. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Packaging Science and joined the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials in 2010 as a co-founder of the Packaging Systems & Design B.S. degree program.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Kim serves as a career advisor for packaging students and as a faculty advisor for the alumni group. In recent years, he has also served as the leading faculty in hosting the Packaging Career Fair. He teaches courses on packaging materials - including paper, corrugated fiberboard, and packaging polymers - with a focus on their interactions with food and healthcare products.
