Jonathan Coote

Assistant Professor, SBIO Department

Biography

Jonathan Coote joined the Department of Sustainable Biomaterials in 2026 as an Assistant Professor in the Packaging Systems and Design program, where his work focuses on design of sustainable plastic materials.  Prior to this, he was a postdoctoral associate at the University of Minnesota, collaborating with the NSF Center for Sustainable Polymers. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee in 2022 and his B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University in 2013.
